Good question!
Well, basically here's the deal
This "child's toy" retailed for about $120 and used chrome audiocassette tapes to record (yes, video on an audiocassette). Needless to say, the sound and video quality were complete crap (stay tuned for video of classic Phil Television), but it worked for filming stupid parody commercials and skits. Well, not much has changed in the last 18 years. Phil is still being stupid with his friends, and he's still the only one that can afford to bring it to the public (hence, the name Phil Television). However, the attitude and equipment has changed. "The Pilot" was purposely shot on a 'consumer-grade' camera, to give the viewer the sense that they're witnessing the show in a 'bare-bones' format. Forthcoming episodes have been shot with 'broadcast' quality cameras, which will help the viewer to evolve with the 'show' as it progresses. Phil has never done any of his work alone. Every person
that has contributed, in one way or another, will be credited either
in a show title credit or on this website. This entire project would
not be possible without the contributions of tons of people that love
the concept. Phil Television is grateful to everyone who has been, currently,
or will be involved! |
